Overview & Goals
Welcome to the project website for the City of Fredericton’s Parking Master Plan. The purpose of this site is to serve as an online resource for community members who are interested in staying up to date on the Study’s progress.
Commissioned by the Fredericton City Council in mid-2016, the goal of the Parking Master Plan is to develop forward-thinking parking management strategies that:
• Maximize the efficiency of existing parking resources
• Improve parking and mobility options for residents and visitors
• Identify solutions that support a connected, walkable and inviting destination for all users
In response to the exciting growth in Downtown Fredericton, the Fredericton City Council commissioned a study of downtown parking in mid-2016. The study includes a thorough data collection effort that will analyze demand for the city’s current public and private parking supply and how parking is currently being used (i.e., by visitors, residents, employees) to help project future parking needs. This data will be used to develop a parking management plan that will provide near-term and long-term strategies to maximize parking and improve mobility in Downtown Fredericton.
A team of staff, steering committee members and consultants are all working together to make this planning effort efficient and connected to our community.
